This week's annual Bondexpo in Stuttgart was very succesful again
Most relevant companies and institutes in the area of adhesive bonding participated in and visited this week's event. Fraunhofer IFAM not only presented their Trainingcourses in Adhesive Bonding and Fiber Reinforced Plastics, but strongly promoted their research & industrial support projects as well. And ... IFAM's coffee was much better than TC Kleben's ....
In the hall way a small stand of Loctite (Henkel) could be found. Limited budgets? No, not really. In the main Hall Henkel was present with two full size stands and a strong crew.
At the very good organised stand of 3M the colour-indicator of a 2C Epoxy adhesive was demonstrated, as it was last year. During the mixing&curing process the colour changes from red to yellow, to green, to dark green.
Not only the curing process is indicated by a changing colour, the shelf life as well. The white component will colour blue as soon as the adhesive material is too old to be used. Good development!
Furthermore one could find any information on Surface Treatment, Dosing Equipment, UV-curing, Pressure Sensative Adhesives, Hot Melts, Hybride Adhesives, Specialty Adhesives for medical, electrical and many other applications.
Even although the exhibitors were all international operating companies, most of the visitors were from Germany and German spoken countries. Nevertheless, the annual Bondexpo is really informative and definitely worth a visit.
