At last complete; DIN standard adhesive bonding execution!

  • How can you demonstrate the quality of your adhesive processes to your customers, insurers and damage experts?
  • What requirements do you place on adhesive bonds executed by your suppliers?

Simple questions, but difficult to answer as long as there is no standard.

As of today, that has changed. The last two (draft) parts of DIN 6701 standard have just become available.

Although DIN 6701 applies only to "Chemical bonding in rail and tram construction", it is designed in such a way that other sectors are expected to follow suit quickly on this basis.

DIN 6701 consists of four parts:

Part 2: Company qualification, Quality Assurance (May 2006)

Part 3: Design and test guidelines (October 2010, draft)

Part 4: Execution rules and Quality Assurance (October 2010, draft)

  • Part 1: Basic concepts and basic rules (November 2004, draft)

Companies whose (adhesive) work is directly affected by this standard are advised to consult with a neutral expert, such as Makiba. This is to properly learn the interpretation, or acceptance limits of the standard, so that the practical implementation of the literal standard text can be realized quickly and completely.

End users, system builders and contractors in all sectors where chemical bonding is used are well advised to tighten their purchasing and subcontracting conditions on the basis of this new standard. You can also contact Makiba for this. We are happy to help you implement this revision.
