Makiba will soon have access to Silicoater equipment.
Using this equipment, the flame pyrolysis principle applies a thin silicon dioxide layer to a surface. This layer of just 20 - 50 nm gives the surface a very high surface energy, making it possible to create a durable, long-lasting adhesive bond.
Additionally, with the help of this Silicoater, surfaces and substrates that are normally not bondable can be made adhesive. Even the surface of PTFE can be made bondable with this method.
After applying this silicon oxide layer, an adhesion promoter is applied that matches the chosen adhesive system. So Makiba will soon have matching adhesion promoters for Epoxy, Acrylates and Polyurethanes.
