Today, NIL in Rotterdam administered the European Adhesive Bonder exam to 12 participants. This group was trained by Makiba's training division Lijmacademie in collaboration with RDM Campus, Rotterdam.
Lijmacademie, a partnership between Makiba, Mikrocentrum and MidPoint Brabant, uses the training structure and methods developed by Fraunhofer IFAM in Bremen. For the first time, a NIL exam has been administered to participants who followed this originally German training format.
The first part of the exam consisted of the practical component. The candidates were well prepared for this and, aside from a minor error, this part went excellently. Although the measurement results are not yet known, there is every reason to be confident in a successful completion of this exam section.
The second part, the written exam, consisted of a series of multiple choice questions and several open-ended questions. This proved to be quite challenging, as according to the participants the theory covered in the preceding week did not entirely match the questions asked.
The third and final part involved an individual oral exam. Apart from one topic, the questions in the oral exam were in line with the theory covered, and all participants were enthusiastic about this final section.
In a few weeks, the grades will be announced and diplomas will be presented to those who have been successful. All in all, an instructive experience for all parties involved.
