Attended a well-organized congress today with about fifty other interested parties in Industrial Adhesive Technology. The catering at Tata Steel was excellent, as was the interesting site tour and visit to the Warmband rolling mill. The use of qualified bonding- and sealing processes as a preferred adhesive bonding technology in the train vehicle industry has thus increased drastically during the last decade. The logical consequences are the increasing requirements on the design, the production process and organisation of the vehicle producer. Norms and codes e.g. DIN 6701 are evolving, and setting unified standards in the industry.
The suppliers of bonding and sealing systems get deeply involved in issues of design, production and maintenance of the vehicles.
